Acquisition from Hitachi Electron Microscopes

Data is transferred from Hitachi Tabletop SEMs and TEMs using the Spider method discussed above.

For other Hitachi SEM models, transferring of images and associated information from the PC-SEM software to PCI/CFR is accomplished with the "Send To PCI" button in the PC-SEM software. The exact operation of this button varies with the instrument model. Generally, images can originate from one of four locations. They may be stored in the memory of the SEM itself, in the memory of the PC, on the PC's hard disk or in the video capture card in the computer.

In each of these cases, the image transfer is initiated by pressing the Send to PCI button in the instrument software.
