The Acquire Image Size Command

The Acquire Image Size Command is used to determined the size of the image that will be acquired from a slow-scan instrument.

You can select a Small, Medium, Large, Extra Large or Custom image size. The standard image sizes are determined using the Acquire Set Up Command (see The Acquire Set Up Command). If you select Custom and your instrument permits custom sizes to be set, the Custom Size dialog will appear. Enter the X and Y dimensions of the image in pixels.

Because PCI/CFR Slow-Scan uses a passive capture technique, it depends upon the microscope to generate the scan signals. You must, therefore, ensure that enough scan lines are being produced by the microscope to complete the image. If, for example, the microscope only produces 512 lines at a particular scan rate, then you cannot acquire a 1,024 line image. If this situation occurs, PCI/CFR will still lock on and capture an image but only the first 512 lines will be used and the image will appear distorted.
