The Square/Rectangle Drawing Tool

The square/rectangle drawing tool is used to draw squares and rectangles on the image.

Before using the square/rectangle drawing tool, select the width of the outline that you want to draw using the Line Width Selector and select the outline and fill colors using the Color Picker.

To draw a rectangle, move the mouse to the starting point of the rectangle and press the left mouse button. While still holding down the button, drag the mouse to the opposite corner of the rectangle region and release the button. You can constrain the rectangle to be a square by holding down the Shift key while you drag the mouse. You can indicate that the first mouse-click position should be the center of the rectangle rather than the corner by holding down the Ctrl key while you drag the mouse. To draw a square centered about the first mouse position, hold down both the Shift and Ctrl keys while dragging the mouse.
