The File Series Name Command
The File Series Name Command is used to set the root name for a series of images before they are acquired. If, for example, you set a root name of "INSECT" with the series name command, then new images subsequently acquired would be called "INSECT01", "INSECT02" and so on.
This name will continue to be used until you set another name, you use the File Save As Command (in which case the root name will be based on the new file name that you specify), or you exit the program.
When you have established a series name with the File Series Name Command, you will not be prompted for a file name when you save a new image.
