5. Signing Images
You can apply digital signatures to images in PCI/CFR. There are various reasons for signing images, such as certifying authenticity, indicating you have reviewed the data and so on. At the time PCI/CFR is installed, you can specify your own list of possible reasons for applying a signature (see Configuration of the Digital Signature Functions).
To sign an image, use the File | Sign command. The person signing will be asked for their User Name and Password and for the Reason for signing.
Any signatures that are applied will be shown on printed images, in exported PDF files and are available for viewing using The Display Audit Signatures Command.
Applying a signature will result in the image being automatically saved and a new version created. This ensures that the application of the signature was the last thing done to a particular version of the image and that the saved file reflects the exact state of the image at the time of signing.
