The File Export Command

The File Export Command is used to export documents from PCI/CFR. It can be used to convert your data into different formats.

The Export command brings up a dialog in which you are asked to supply the export file name.

The export file format is determined from the file name extension. The list of available file formats can be viewed in the List Files of Type list box.

When you are exporting an image, by checking the Apply Overlay check box, you can elect to apply the overlay to images prior to them being exported. If you do not choose this option, the overlay will not appear on exported images.

By checking the Export Text check box, you can export the notes associated with the data file to an ASCII text file. The text file will be given the same name as the exported data file but will have a "TXT" extension.

If you choose to export a JPEG file (.JPG), you will be asked to supply a quality factor. JPEG is a lossy compression scheme, which means that the image quality will be degraded as the amount of compression is increased. To select the quality factor, move the slider with the mouse. Higher numbers mean better image quality and lower compression ratios.
