The Process Local Contrast Command

The Process Local Contrast command performs a sophisticated image processing operation in which image contrast is adjusted on a neighborhood basis. Using the histogram command, you can adjust the contrast level of the whole image. Local contrast optimizes contrast in the image on a region-by-region basis. This is useful for bringing out detail in charging regions and at the bottom of holes in the sample. Local contrast is also useful for removing noise from images without affecting the larger features.
